And the Pennsylvania Reader’s Choice Award goes to …

The Dollar General Literacy Foundation funded implementation of the Pennsylvania Reader’s Choice Award at Ridley High School for the 2016-2017 school year! The purpose of this award is to promote reading of quality books by young people in Pennsylvania, to encourage teacher/librarian collaboration in young adult literature, and to honor authors whose works have been recognized by the students of Pennsylvania. 113 students read books of their choice from the list of 15 nominated titles and voted for their favorite in March! And the 2017 winner is:Yoon

Congratulations to Nicola Yoon and all of the students in Pennsylvania that participated in the Pennsylvania Reader’s Choice Award program! Stay tuned to learn about our nominated books for 2017-2018!

Teens’ Top Ten Giveaway!

I am so pleased to share that Ridley High School Library has been awarded a 2016 Teens’ Top Ten Book Giveaway! We are one of forty libraries from around the United States to receive a set of twenty-six acclaimed teen titles. These books will become part of the library and will be available for students to read and enjoy. Special thanks to the Dollar General Literacy Foundation for generously sponsoring this giveaway!

BTW, the Teens’ Top Ten is a “teen choice” program. Teens read, nominate, and select their three favorite books from the list of finalists. Online voting will be open August 15 through October 15, and the Top Ten will be announced the following week! For more information, just click on this picture:TeensTopTen_logo_web
