Have you heard about the We Need Diverse Books movement? It’s a grassroots organization of children’s book lovers that advocates for literature that represents the lives of all young people. We Need Diverse Books recognizes all diverse experiences, including LGBT, people of color, gender diversity, people with disabilities, and religious minorities. And the Ridley High School Library HAS diverse books, with more coming in all the time! Just check out the new bulletin board, featuring lots of our new arrivals. The bulletin board also proudly displays some #WeNeedDiverseBooks signs from some of your teachers, and an extra-special sign by Tiffany Schmidt, author of Hold Me Like a Breath and more. So when school starts up again in September, make sure you drop by the library to check out our diverse books and choose one to read!
