RHS Library News: September Round-Up

September has been an action-packed month here at the Ridley High School Library! Between booktalks, 9th Grade Library Orientations, 182 classes using the library, and our September 20th Author Visit with Elizabeth Wein, Ms. Pickett has been too busy to notice all of the latest, hot-off-the-press teen reads. Almost too busy, that is. Here are some of the recently published novels that are currently topping my Gotta Read list:

The Eye of MindsThe Eye of Minds by James Dashner
The Maze Runner is a consistent favorite here at Ridley High School, and Dashner’s first installment in the new Mortality Doctrine series looks every bit as good! It’s set in a world of hyperadvanced technology, cyberterrorists, and gaming beyond your wildest dreams . . . and your worst nightmares. Coming 10/8/13!

The Coldest Girl in ColdtownThe Coldest Girl in Coldtown by Holly Black
A new book by Holly Black is always a Very Big Deal, and The Coldest Girl in Coldtown is getting great reader reactions. Don’t give up on vampires until you’ve taken a trip to Coldtown. The only problem is, once you pass through Coldtown’s gates, you can never leave….

Forgive Me, Leonard PeacockForgive Me, Leonard Peacock by Matthew Quick
Matthew Quick made a big name for himself with The Silver Linings Playbook, and his latest novel is a must-read in the tradition of Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher. Leonard Peacock has decided to end his own life, but first he must say goodbye to the four people who matter most to him. Keep the tissues handy when you pick up this one by Quick!

What are your Gotta Reads? What books would you like to see in the Library ASAP? Leave me a comment and let me know!
