December means one thing!

Okay, December actually means a lot of things. But one of them is that the “Best of 2010” lists are published! Newspapers, magazines, and Web sites like Amazon.com select the best books of the year and publish their lists just in time for holiday shopping (and better yet, snow day reading!). Every source has a slightly different list, but here are some of the young adult novels that keep turning up on list after list. They really are the best of the best!

  • Ship Breaker by Paolo Bacigalupi
  • They Called Themselves the K.K.K. by Susan Campbell Bartoletti*
  • Zombies vs. Unicorns by Holly Black and Justine Larbalestier (editors)
  • Revolution by Jennifer Donnelly*
  • Happyface by Stephen Emond
  • Incarceron by Catherine Fisher*
  • Black Hole Sun by David Macinnis Gill
  • Wicked Girls by Stephanie Hemphill
  • Trash by Andy Mulligan*
  • Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver
  • Three Rivers Rising by Jame Richards*
  • Numbers by Rachel Ward*
  • The Replacement by Brenna Yovanoff*Before I Fall

* ALSO AVAILABLE IN AUDIOBOOK FORMAT IN THE LIBRARY!

Lucky for you, each of these books is available in the library! There’s no snow in the forecast yet, but if you check one of these books out today you’ll be ready when it arrives!
