Plug Into a Pageturner!

Thanks to a grant from the Ridley Education Foundation, the library just added FORTY MP3-CD audiobooks to the collection. MP3-CDs contain a full-length audiobook on just one disc. These discs can be played on any CD player with MP3-CD compatibility, or transferred to iTunes or Windows Media Player. After one easy upload, the audiobook is ready for listening! Every MP3-CD audiobook is read by a professional actor and comes in a sturdy case with cover art that matches the print edition of the book. All forty titles were selected based on input from teachers and students. Odyssey Award honorees and the “Amazing Audiobooks for Young Adults” list were also consulted. Here are just a few of the new audiobooks:

The Marbury LensIn The Marbury Lens by Andrew Smith, Jack — who has just escaped an attempted kidnapping — receives a pair of glasses that send him to an alternate universe where war is raging and his best friend has become his worst enemy.

If you like something more realistic, try Beat the Band by Don Calame. In this hilarious follow-up to Swim the Fly, Cooper tries to give his coolness factor a little life support by winning the Battle of the Bands with his best buddies, Matt and Sean. The only problem is … they are more than a little bit musically challenged.

Beat the Band by Don CalameRomance readers, Halo by Alexandra Adornetto was written just for you!
